Dr. Ochoa is a Resident Psychologist at Campbell Integrative Psychological Services and is supervised by Dr. Shushan Campbell, while seeking licensure in the state of Virginia.
Dr. Rhesia-Maria Ochoa is a graduate from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and holds a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) as well as a Master’s Degree in Psychology (MA). Prior to completing her degree in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Ochoa completed her Undergraduate degree at Colorado State University and graduated from the University of Denver with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW). She began working as a Psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2008.
Dr. Ochoa's clinical research has focused on rehabilitation psychology, health psychology, psychological trauma, concussion prevention, and advocacy. In 2021 she published, Punch Drunk: Analysis of the Utility of G-Force Reducing Protective Head-Gear as a Means of Improved Safety and Reduced Cognitive Disruption in Combative Boxing Sport.
Dr. Ochoa’s clinical experience includes a diverse spectrum of medical and psychological patients across various clinical settings and psychological domains including acute and organic cognitive impairment, complex trauma, geriatric and adult life-stages.
Dr. Ochoa also engages in advocacy and leadership around disability and Traumatic Brain Injury awareness. She previously served as a Board Member of Colorado’s Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund. Presently, she is a Board member of Virginia’s Brain Injury Association where she hopes to continue her role in advocacy and leadership.
