Dr. Joseph Dunn is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Campbell Integrative Psychological Service. He has over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings, including outpatient, inpatient, residential, and partial hospital levels of care. Although experienced working with a wide variety of presenting concerns, populations, and age ranges, Dr. Dunn especially enjoys and specializes in work with trauma, issues related to sex and sexuality, and queer- and trans*-identified individuals, as well as those experiencing difficulties navigating educational and professional systems.
Whether providing therapy or psychological assessment, Dr. Dunn works within the context of an attuned, empathic relationship to help clients identify their goals, explore the diverse factors contributing to their distress, and collaborates with clients toward the holistic relief of distress and the integration of mind, body, and identity.
Dr. Dunn’s academic and research interests include trauma, depth-oriented psychotherapies, gender and sexuality, as well as the mental health concerns unique to performing musicians.
Dr. Dunn earned his BA degree from Huntington College, where he double majored in Psychology and Music, and graduated Cum Laude. He went on to earn his MA degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. He then pursued and earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Memphis.
