Dr. Briana Williams, Ph.D.

Psychologist Resident

Dr. Williams is a Psychologist at Campbell Integrative Psychological Services and is supervised by Dr. Shushan Campbell, while seeking licensure in the state of Virginia.

Dr. Williams specializes in anxiety and depression, identity development, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ concerns, sociopolitical stress, trauma and major life transitions. Dr. Williams received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has extensive experience providing individual and group therapy to diverse populations, including teens/adolescents, college students (undergraduate and graduate), and working professionals.

Over the past 7 years, she has facilitated mental health programming to support clients navigating major life transitions, trauma, anxiety and depression, relational concerns (family, workplace, romantic relationships), sociopolitical stress and identity-based stressors. She specializes in working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Overall, she strives to create an affirming and culturally responsive space where clients feel empowered in their journey towards healing and wellness.

Dr. Williams embraces a therapeutic approach grounded in narrative and multicultural theories, emphasizing how personal and cultural narratives shape our sense of self and emotional well-being. She also integrates evidence-based practices from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strengths-based approaches to help clients redefine limiting self-beliefs, develop adaptive coping strategies, and build more fulfilling lives.

Whether you are experiencing overwhelming emotional distress, relationship difficulties, or a major life transition, she is open to helping you gain insight and move toward the life you envision.
